Western Forest

Western forest region. An old-growth forest of lumenwood fills the land between the Spine's foothills and the heartland. Lumenwood sap glows with Aether-light, so after dark the whole forest is lit from within, brightest at the Old Bough, where the oldest trees stand. The Western River runs along its southern edge.

Places

Gyokusai — Fossil resin pockets under fallen lumenwood

Old sap that hardened for centuries turns into Gyokusai — iridescent, and different every time you turn it.

Getsugyoku — Streambeds below the Old Bough

Only visible on clear nights; the Fae say moonlight shows where it lies.

Shisho — Geodes around the Weeping Glade

Grows where the rift pocket presses on the forest; strong for focus, uneasy to hold.

Lumen sap & lumenwood — Everywhere

Not a mineral: the forest's own glowing sap and timber, refined in Lumenreach into reagents and wards.
