Western Spine
Major western mountain spine and mineral belt. A long wall of dark, iron-heavy rock runs north to south through the Western Highlands, rising to two great summits and falling east in broken foothills toward the heartland. Most of Aetherion's ore comes out of it, and most of the people who live here are underground.

Materials
Material families →The Spine's signature ore — dense, dark and heavy. Most of the kingdom's armour starts here.
Clear veins that carry Aether cleanly; prized by glyph-crafters.
Washed down from the Western River Source; glows faintly in running water.
Forms where lightning hits the ridge; holds a charge for days.
Rare and dangerous to work; miners say it drinks lamplight.
